Thought-provoking? Tasteless?
Some of both maybe. Maybe director Gabriel Range and writer Simon Finch are being exploitative, but at the same time, could such a film provoke an emotional response in its audience if it used a fictional president? Since the assassination occurs 10 minutes into the film, it seems that it's the aftermath that's the focus, not the assassination itself. Haven't seen it yet, so I can't say either way for sure.
