Just finished reading Chuck Palahniuk's Lullaby. I haven't read Fight Club or anything else he's written, but I know what he's known for. This novel is generally quite bizarre but pretty mellow until its very violent ending.
(spoiler warning)
Could you love a woman trapped in the body of a police sergeant whose original body had been occupied by way of an ancient spell and used to shatter the body of her own cryogenically frozen son as vengeance for a previous occupation spell she'd used to make her occupier dress in funny clothes and get her hair and nails done? Does any of this make sense? Surprisingly it's all quite simple, if you read the book.
(end spoiler)
Also read Hemingway's A Moveable Feast about his early years in Paris. Great stuff for wannabe writers, but avoid if you prefer not to know about his somewhat "intimate" relationship with Scott Fitzgerald.
Hey Chuck!

Eh, Lullaby was so so. If you really want to read his best work, get Choke and Survivor. Those are my two favorites, besides Fight Club of course. Oh, and steer clear from Diary. It's a piece o' crap.
